Tomorrow, I will leave with my parent for Grand Rapids in Michigan to attend a District Conference. This conference is mandatory, and I'm kind of scared it won't be terribly informative. The deal is that all the students that just spent a year in the US from someplace else will meet and talk to all the kinds that are leaving the US for someplace else, and there might be some kids that just came back to the US from someplace else. The idea is that these kids wil be able to provide me with all sorts of tips and tricks for getting by while in a foreign land, and I can only hope it will be informative. My plan was to be simply thrust into Belgium with as few preparations as possible and wing it from there. This option seems barred from me. Whatever. I'll still have plenty to figure out on my own when I get there.
My father is really starting to get on my case about getting ready for this trip. I'm having a hard time making it as high a priority as he'd like; do I really neeed to be working on a powerpoint presentation on my hometown? I just checked X-day out of the library. I don't need to be organizing things to pack; the important thing is to read about high-schoolers plotting to blow up their school. It's actually turning out to be better than I thought it would be. Parts of it are still pretty funny, but it has some strong points that I didn't expect it to have. Oh yeah, volume 19 of Fullmetal Alchemist comes out today. I think I might end up buying that one. I still have some money left on my "Borders" gift card.
